It’s a cliché that money can’t buy everything. But obviously, it’s true. It can buy you an ultra chic car, the best specialist dentist in town, or the best vacation, but it can’t buy you lost time, happiness, and most importantly health.
All too often we think that if we work hard and we save a lot of money, we can get everything we want. But millions, or even gazillions of dollars, won’t save us from ill health. Stressing ourselves from working too much will eventually take a toll on our health. No amount of money can buy us freedom from a serious disease. Good health is simply a state of mind that cost no more than good exercise, healthy food, and some R&R.
Being healthy is also not all about pricey gyms, medications, and personal trainers. A 20-minute jog around our block every day and a well-balanced diet can already get us overall good health. And remember that good overall health translates to good oral health. A few minutes of brushing and flossing our teeth every day won’t hurt. If we practice good oral hygiene and a regular visit to our dentist, we may be surprised that we’ll actually save more pennies than we expected.
And the next time you start thinking of tossing your money on ‘unhealthy’ buys, remember that being healthy is not all about spending big bucks. It’s all about living healthy.
