Growing up in Encinitas was a unique and special experience. Prior to Interstate 5 being completed in the late 1960's, Encinitas was very isolated from the rest of the world. The only way the rest of the world could visit us was via surface streets, a slow and inconvenient journey. We were essentially cut of from the rest of the world, living in our own microcsim.
We were a town influenced by the pacific ocean and the beautiful countryside. We were surfers, swimmers, fishermen, farmers and artists |
